I suppose now I'm forced into making an "official announcement", something I had no intention of ever needing to do after all this time.

www.GarettMaggart.net remains as it always has been, officially recognized and in the good graces of Hines & Hunt and more importantly, Garett Maggart. Period. The site and the domains are held by me, but belong solely to Garett. The content is compiled by me, designed by me and credited as needed where applicable. All original content such as design, is mine and I retain complete ownership and control over it, with Garett's blessing. This means, the site stays where it is, under the current domain names and all content stays intact, not appearing on another parties website.

If anyone wants to make another site for Garett, feel free. It is, after all, the internet and you may do what you wish. In fact, the more the merrier. He's quite happy to have additional fans and welcomes their new/continued involvement. But as always, the continued official word continues to come from www.GarettMaggart.net as it has for so many years.

As far as my personal fandom involvement, there is none. The site is for Garett, not "The Sentinel" or even "Blair Sandburg". If an event is attended and you wish photos to be added to the site content, clearly mark your email subject lines and send them to garettmaggartnet@bellsouth.net. I receive mails that would curl your toes asking personal questions about Garett's chosen apparel as well as rude, personal questions directed to me, and I'm not dealing with them anymore. Period plain and simple. Treat me as an outside source running the website because that's what I am--an outside source. I maintain the site for Garett. I distanced myself from the fandom for a reason--self-preservation. I became ill, emotionally and physically from the abuse I received directly following his last film role. I had to block e-mails and walk away from involvement and I have no intention of allowing that kind of behavior to affect me so negatively ever again.

I do know the people behind this suddenly surfaced "team" and the story behind it. I know names and I know who is directly and indirectly involved. I have names, e-mails and lots of sordid details of who did what, who egged who on and so forth. Hines & Hunt is disgusted by this fiasco as am I. It was mishandled and reeked of cloak and dagger secrecy littered with demands, threats and rudeness. Not the way I've ever done business nor do I ever intended to embrace these tactics when working for Garett or conducting business regarding his site or my own personal life.

I refuse to justify any personal work or involvement I have. Frankly, it's no one's business, and in case any of you might want to know, yes, Garett knows of my outside involvements, all of them, and has no issue with them. My business is my own.

Feel free to visit these new sites once they're in place. In fact, I encourage it. Enjoy your experiences surfing the net. But this new "team" will have to build their own reputations without help from me, content from www.GarettMaggart.net or currently existing domain names which all *do* belong to Garett.

My sincere desire is that this all come to an end once and for all. The reputation of www.GarettMaggart.net should speak for itself as it has for the past many years, offering official information to persons who appreciate Garett's work.
